Tar Farm Lake No. 5

Tar Farm Lake No. 5 is a mature, five-acre gravel pit, forming part of the larger Tar Farm complex managed by Linear Fisheries. It is located a short distance from the main day-ticket site, offering a slightly more secluded angling experience. The lake is rectangular, with a consistent depth profile typical of pits excavated for gravel. Depths average between 8 to 10 feet, with minimal variation across the majority of the lake bed. The bottom is predominantly clean gravel, interspersed with areas of light silt and low-lying weed growth, particularly during the warmer months. These features, though subtle, are critical for fish location. Anglers equipped with a marker rod will find small, harder gravel spots, undulations, and clearer areas within the weed that often serve as patrol routes and feeding zones for the resident carp.

The lake is specifically managed as a "runs water," prioritising consistent action over the pursuit of exceptionally large, individual specimens.
