Christchurch is the jewel in the crown of the Linch Hill Fishery complex. Carved from the earth by the gravel extraction industry, this mature pit has evolved into one of the most revered and challenging big-carp syndicates in the United Kingdom. Its reputation is built not on sheer numbers, but on the quality, age, and size of its residents. The lake spans approximately 70 acres of crystal-clear, alkaline water, a typical characteristic of a Cotswold gravel pit. The underwater topography is a complex matrix of features, a direct legacy of its excavation. The lake contains two main islands, which act as natural fish-holding magnets, with the surrounding margins and underwater shelves being prime targets. The swims are strategically placed to offer each angler a generous water C.V., ensuring that pressure is distributed and a sense of seclusion is maintained.
