Sunnyside 2 at Wyreside Lakes

Sunnyside 2 is the primary specimen carp water at the Wyreside Lakes complex. It is a mature, challenging venue that holds the largest residents on the fishery. The lake was established as a dedicated big-carp water, designed to test the skills of experienced anglers. Its clear, spring-fed water demands a thoughtful and stealthy approach. The lakebed is varied, comprising areas of silt, clay, and significant gravel features, including prominent bars and plateaus that are key patrol routes for the carp. An island is the dominant feature, with its surrounding margins and underwater shelves providing holding areas and feeding spots. In addition, marginal reed beds and overhanging trees offer cover and require accurate casting and robust tackle.
