Spanning approximately 4 acres, it is a mature, purpose-built fishery designed to offer a blend of high-action fishing with the potential for a personal best. The lake is roughly square in shape, providing straightforward casting access to all areas from its 12 designated swims. The swims are well-constructed, spacious, and surfaced with woodchip, ensuring a clean and comfortable base for long sessions in all weather conditions.

The stocking policy makes Wyre Lake a prolific runs water. It holds a significant head of carp, with a high density of fish in the double-figure to high-twenty-pound bracket.
