Lake One (Mason's Lake), Mason Darenth Fishing Complex

Lake One, commonly known as Mason's Lake, is the premier specimen carp water at the Mason Darenth Fishing Complex. A mature, 18-acre former gravel pit, it has established itself as a significant venue in the South East, renowned for its large, hard-fighting carp. The lake's character is defined by its clarity and varied topography. Anglers will find a wealth of underwater features to target, a direct result of its quarrying origins. The lake bed is a complex tapestry of gravel bars, deep silt channels, plateaus, and pronounced weed beds. Depths are inconsistent, ranging from shallow marginal shelves of 3-4 feet to deeper holes plunging to over 14 feet, with an average depth holding around 8-10 feet. This variation requires a thoughtful approach; watercraft and feature-finding are essential for consistent success.

The lake is set within a secure, well-maintained complex. Access to the majority of the 19 swims is practical, with a perimeter track allowing for barrowing of tackle.
