Wadmill Lake at Todber Manor Fisheries

Todber Manor Fisheries

About This Venue

Wadmill Lake is a premier action water situated within the Todber Manor Fisheries complex. At approximately 3.5 acres, it is a purpose-built U-shaped lake designed to provide consistent sport for anglers of all abilities. The lake's primary feature is a large central island, which is accessible to anglers from almost every swim, creating a wealth of fish-holding spots and patrol routes. The margins of the island, particularly the deeper channels and undercut banks, are highly productive areas. The lake bed is predominantly clay, with deposits of silt and scattered gravel patches. Depths are relatively uniform, averaging between 5 and 6 feet, with a maximum depth of around 7 feet in certain areas. This consistent depth profile makes it an ideal venue for a variety of tactics, from surface fishing in the summer to bottom bait approaches year-round.

The lake holds a significant stock of carp, estimated at over 700 fish. The stocking policy is geared towards action, with the vast majority of residents being hard-fighting doubles from 10lb to the high-teens. A substantial number of twenty-pound carp are also present, providing anglers with a realistic chance of a new personal best. The lake record currently stands at over 30lb. This high stock density ensures that bites are common, making Wadmill a popular choice for those seeking a bend in the rod rather than targeting a single specific fish. It is an excellent venue for testing new tactics, baits, and for anglers looking to build confidence.
