Lodge Pool at Baden Hall Fishery is a 3-acre lake engineered for action. It is a purpose-built water with 12 designated swims, designed to provide consistent sport for anglers of all abilities. The lake's primary feature is a large, central island which is reachable from most pegs, creating a natural patrol route for the carp and a key target for anglers. The underwater topography is relatively uniform, consisting mainly of a silt and clay bed with some harder gravel spots, particularly around the island margins. Depths are manageable, generally ranging from 4 feet in the margins to around 8 feet in the deeper central channel. This lack of extreme features or depth changes makes it an accessible water to read and fish effectively.
The stocking policy is geared towards high catch rates. The lake holds a significant head of carp, predominantly in the double-figure bracket, with the average size being around 12-15lb. While not a specimen water for chasing monsters, fish over 20lb are present and provide a target for those seeking a personal best. The high stock density ensures that bites are common, making it an ideal venue for day-session anglers, overnighters, and those new to carp fishing who wish to build confidence. It is also a popular choice for social angling due to the layout and the high probability of action for all participants.
