Arrow Meadow Fishery - The Estate Lake

Located in the historic grounds of an early 1800s manor house in Knowle, Solihull, this 2.5-acre lake offers an exclusive and unforgettable carp fishing experience. The mature, picturesque surroundings, with the grand manor house as a backdrop, create an atmosphere of peace and seclusion that is hard to find in the modern world.

The Estate Lake has a rich history, and the team at Arrow Meadow Fisheries has undertaken a significant restoration project to bring it back to its former glory. In 2018, the lake was completely drained and desilted, a process that has revitalised the aquatic environment and created the perfect habitat for carp to thrive. The restoration has been sympathetic to the lake's natural character, preserving the features that make it so special. The clay-lined lake bed has a varied topography, with depths ranging from 2 to 9 feet. There are pads, reeds, and overhanging trees that provide natural cover for the fish and create a host of features to target.

In the winter of 2020/2021, The Estate Lake was restocked with around 150 carefully selected carp. These fish, sourced from some of the UK's most respected breeders, are known for their fast growth rates and stunning looks. The initial stocking included fish from 10lb to 22lb, and they have been packing on the weight ever since, with a number of them now exceeding the 30lb barrier. The lake also holds a variety of other species, including tench, crucian carp, perch, roach, and rudd, adding to the diversity of the fishing.

The Estate Lake is an exclusive hire venue, meaning that you and up to three other anglers will have the entire lake to yourselves. This ensures a peaceful and undisturbed fishing experience, allowing you to fully appreciate the beauty of your surroundings. There are four purpose-built swims, each offering a unique perspective of the lake and giving you plenty of water to explore. The fishery provides nets, mats, and slings to ensure the highest standards of biosecurity and fish care.

Modern carp fishing techniques are highly effective on The Estate Lake. The use of a bait boat is recommended to reach some of the more distant spots and to present your baits with precision. The facilities are excellent, with a toilet and shower block, power sockets, and even Wi-Fi, so you can stay connected if you wish. The entire site is securely fenced, providing a safe and secure environment for your stay.
