Gigantica Main Lake, owned by Korda founder Danny Fairbrass, is legendary in the world of carp fishing. Formerly known as Domaine Saint Christophe, the lake was purchased by Fairbrass in September 2008 and reopened for commercial fishing in April 2009. This 35-acre gravel pit in the Grand Est region of France has since become arguably the most famous big carp venue on the planet.
The lake holds an estimated 700 carp, with a stock that is simply staggering. Twelve fish have exceeded 70lb, four have topped 80lb, and the venue made carp fishing history in June 2025 when Scott Hesling landed the Immaculate Common at 105lb β the same fish that had previously topped out at 98lb. This makes Gigantica one of only a handful of venues worldwide to have produced a carp over 100lb.
The lake features 13 swims, with a maximum of 12 anglers fishing per week. Named swims include Oblivion, Alcatraz, Co's Point, Scottie's Corner, Big Southerly, The Tree Line, The Stink, The Alamo, and Flat Oak, each offering different tactical challenges. The underwater topography is classic deep gravel pit, with a fairly flat lakebed, plateaus, bars, and marginal slopes providing a wealth of features to target across depths of 18ft to 25ft.
Gigantica operates on a weekly booking basis, with demand so high that bookings are often made years in advance. The price includes breakfast and evening meals, prepared on site, along with access to the 24-hour clubhouse. Mainline baits are available on site, and only food-type baits are permitted. The rules are strict but fair, designed to protect the incredible stock of fish.
Facilities are first-class, including toilets, showers, a tackle shop, Wi-Fi, electric hook-ups, and on-site catering. Expert bailiffs are on hand throughout each session to assist anglers and ensure the highest standards of fish care. For the serious specimen hunter, a week at Gigantica represents the ultimate carp fishing experience.
